Jacinto “Jesse” Aguiar, 81, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away December 4, 2011. He was born December 4, 1930 in San Miguel, Portugal to Manuel and Maria Aguiar. He moved to this area in 1974 from Attleboro, Mass. Jesse was the owner of J&M Excavating and retired in the early 90’s. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Elks and Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his children, Michael Aguiar (fiancée, Tara Highsmith); Julie (Dennis) Roughton and Deborah Bessette; grandchildren, Justin and Amanda Bessette and Chad Roughton; sisters, Eva Araujo and Antonette Martin as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his wife Maria on June 15, 2011.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, Friday December 9, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda with burial at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice at tidewell.org.
