Englewood, & Punta Gorda FL Area Gary E. Brown Aug 6, 1943 to Feb 12, 2013 Born in Huntington In. Raised in Hicksville OH. Graduated Hicksville High School in 1961. Gary joined the Army Reserve from 1961-1967. He worked at International Harvester, Ft. Wayne, In. where he completed his apprenticeship as a Mil Wright and worked 20 years. Co-owned a bakery and laundray mats with his wife Mary. He moved to Springfield Oh where he worked at Navistar for 22 yrs. and owned several rental properties. He was a proud member of the UAW for 50 yrs and past steward. He followed his long time dream of becoming a resident of Englewood Fl in 2010. In Nov 2012 he and his beloved wife Mary celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Despite his many accomplishments his real joy was his family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his beloved parents Bernard and Clara and brother Lance. He is survived by wife and best friend Mary, Daughter Danna, (David) Kimpel, son Darren,(Shelly) Brown all of Hicksville, Oh. Grandchildren Kelly,(Jason) McCoy Defiance, Oh. Justin, (Leslie) Meyer Katy Tx., Dustin, (Jen) Kimpel, Travis Brown, Zac Brown all of Hicksville, Oh. Great Grandaughters Annabell and Scarlett Meyer of Katy Tx. and Peyton Kimpel of Hicksville, Oh. Brothers Terry (Sharon) Hicksville, Mike (Carol) Findley Oh. Sisters Pat (Bill) Grooms Sarasota Fl., Mary Brown Boston Ma., Diane (Dave) Brickle, and Cindy (Woody) Curry all of Hicksville Oh. Gary fought a valiant 8 year battle with cancer. His strength and positive attitude inspired all who knew him.
