Earl LeRoy Cecil 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on October 21, 2012 in
Port Charlotte, Florida.

He was born on June 9, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas and came to Port Charlotte,
Florida from St. Louis, Missouri in 2007. Earl was a Sales representative for
Glidden Paint Company retiring after many years of service, he was also a high
School teacher and coach. Earl served in the US Marines Corps, during the Korean
War and received 4 bronze stars. He was a member of the American Legion # 110
of Port Charlotte, Florida., and also a member of the First Baptist Church of Punta
Gorda.
Survivors include his wife, Terry of Port Charlotte, Florida; his children, Troy Cecil,
Brad Cecil, Amy Packer, Jane Brengle, Karen Kowalewski, Linda Angevine, and Kyle
Cecil; his mother, Leona Cecil; his 3 brothers and one sister; 19 grandchildren and one
great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, James Cecil who passed away
in 1956.
Visitation Friday, October 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kays-Ponger &
Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida

Funeral services Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton
Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida with Military Honors by the
American Legion Post#110 of Port Charlotte, Florida. Inurnment will be at a later date
at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations in his
Memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2
Port Charlotte, Florida 33953.
