Marcella "Sally" Goble

Marcella “Sally” Goble, 90, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully Saturday June 30, 2012 after a long illness. She was born March 26, 1922 in Sidney, Indiana to Charles and Retha Wenrick. She and her husband, Roger, retired to Port Charlotte 35 years ago. Prior to living in Port Charlotte, they lived in Fort Wayne, IN.
Sally received her B.A. and M.Ed. from Ball State Teachers College. After college she worked in the Fort Wayne Superintendent’s Office, taught at Hillcrest Elementary and Elmhurst High schools. She was a member of the Fort Wayne County School Board. She was active in numerous other organizations especially Phi Delta Kappa Gamma.
She and her beloved Roger enjoyed a full life. They spent their summers on an island near Perry Sound, Ontario, Canada. She was an avid bowler and golfer. They were active members of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte. Sally was a loving mother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Joanna (Don) Drinkwater of Lake Suzy, FL and Steven (Becky) Goble of Decatur, IN; grandchildren: Donald (Heather) Drinkwater of W. Lafette, IN, Sandra (Andrew) Presgraves of Leesburg VA and James (Jenny) Goble of Decatur, IN. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and many friends.
Services were held privately and inurnment is at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Memorial Garden.
The family has requested memorial donations to the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Lutheran Child Development Center, 2300 Luther Road, Port Charlotte, FL 33983.
