Michael E. Yurkovitch 90, died on January 21, 2012 at his residence in
Port Charlotte, Florida.

He was born on March 10, 1921 in Benwood, West Virginia, to Michael
Joseph Yurkovitch and Ivy Trixie Cook Yurkovitch.

He came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Bridgeport, Ohio in 1973. Michael,
worked for the B&O Railroad retiring after 28 years of service, because of
injuries that he sustained while on the job. Michael served in the US Navy
from 1942 until 1946. He was stationed aboard the USS Okanogan, taking part
in the battle of Okinawa, Asaka and Kobe in the sea of Japan.

He is survived by his wife Sarah E. of 70 years, of Port Charlotte, Florida; his
4 children, Mick (Joan) Yurkovitch of Steubenville, Ohio, Nancy Habdo of
Port Charlotte, Florida, Tom (Jennie) Yurkovitch of Tampa, Florida and
Ron (Amy) Yurkovitch of Port Charlotte, Florida. Also surviving are 10
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by
his daughter, Susan that died in 1963

Visitation Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. services to
follow at 4:00 p.m. with military honors. At Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral
Home and Cremation service.2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida.
