Captain Joseph F. McCluskey, 94, of Venice, Florida died February 16, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born August 12, 1918 in Polson , Montana
He was married to the late Eleanor (Mortimer) McCluskey, his wife of 61 years. They moved to Venice 29 years ago from Stoneham, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired as a Captain from Metropolitan District Commision Police /Massachusetts State Police. He also retired as a Captain from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Police.
When asked what was most important to him his answer was “my family”

He is survived by his children, Richard and his wife Lois of Kennebunk, ME and Steven and Ginny of Maple Grove Mn. His daughters: Maureen and Charles Gates of Lakeville, MA, ,Joan and William Brown of Englewood, FL, , Eleanor and Larry Marino of Hampton, NH, , Patricia and Anthony Rosanio of Methuen, MA. and his sister ,Mary McCluskey of Boston, MA. He is also survived by, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grand children.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church of Englewood, on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 am
