Eva Marie Stuenkel, 88, of Punta Gorda, FL went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2010. She was born October 15, 1921 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Pressley and Ollie Riddle. In 1927, her family moved to Carter Lake, Iowa where she resided for thirty-five years. She and her husband Earl were founding members of the Carter Lake Community Church there where they served in various capacities. Eva was a scout leader for Brownies, Intermediates and Wing Scouts. She was active in the PTA, In 1962, the family moved to Florida, where they built a home in Harbour Heights. The community was growing and families felt the need for a church there. Eva and her husband became involved and were charter members of the Harbour Heights United Methodist Church when it was established. She was employed in the purchasing dept. of the Charlotte County School System and later by the Dept of Labor Unemployment Compensation Office. After that, she was Office Manager for Earl’s Air Service, Inc, a family owned and operated aircraft repair service at the Charlotte County Airport. She retired in 1985 when the business was sold. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda since 1970. Eva enjoyed reading and traveling and always had a concern for others.
Funeral InformationViewing is Monday, September 13 at First United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda from 10 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Service is on Monday, September 13 at First United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens after the service.
