He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge in Rhode Island and the Moose lodge and Elks Lodge in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen E. of 35 years of Punta Gorda, Florida. His 2 daughters, Joann (Gerald) Parenteau of Florida and Lynn (Todd) Wabble of East Windsor, Connecticut; his step daughter, Kimberly (Rob) Kurland of California and step son, Scott Fitzgerald of Rhode Island; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with services at 11:30 a.m. at Kay-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida with Military Honors.
