Ella Limone Drake passed away on July 6, 2018 with her loving husband and children by her side.
She was born August 6, 1933 to Maria Ianella and Ciriaco Limone in Brooklyn, New York.
She grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with her parents and sister, Lucille who predeceased her in 2005.
Ella attended Newtown High School in Queens, NY. She graduated with many honors from Newtown and Cum Laude from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Education and Psychology.
Immediately upon graduation she started her life long career in education. First in the NY City School System and then in Plainview Long Island for a total of 35 years.
In Plainview, she was selected as an outstanding 5th grade teacher at Mattlin Middle School.
She and her husband Frank moved to Punta Gorda from Plainview, NY in 1991. They enjoyed their retirement life at Emerald Point and Seminole Lakes. They also traveled extensively during their 55 married years.
Ella enjoyed "fun activities" which included dancing, pool aerobics, bridge, mah jongg, reading groups and even her work as an Interviewer for St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart Church. She never lost contact with the people she made friends with - no matter how far or near, they always received a letter or a call.
She is survived by her loving husband Frank, children Mark and Elizabeth.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 211 W Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950 on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11am.
A Committal Service will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 on Friday, July 13 at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, Ella requested that all donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul ministry at Sacred Heart or masses said in her name.

Oh lord Frank. What an unpleasant surprise to see Ellas passing. Although great memories never die. All who knew her remember her enjoyed her company. Our deep sympathies. Keep the faith as she would wish.
