John M. Davis age 65, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Born on November 1, 1952 in Punta Gorda, Florida, the son of late Jesse Davis and Betty (Thomas) Davis. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas (Tommy) VanSciver. He has been a nurse since 1989.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jean; two sons, Shawn (Melissa) Davis, Christopher (Katharine) Davis, two daughters, Tracy VanSciver and Amy Varnam; 3 sisters, Glenda, Carol and Karen and his brother, Brian; 14 grand-children and 3 great grand-children.There will be a celebration of life service at a later date.

I met john and Jean in 1978. He az n and I became good friends but she was better friends with john. He had eyes for no one but her. It makes me sad that he has passed but he is free now of all the suffering.. my thoughts and prayers are with you jean and all your family. Such a hard loss.

I am so sorry to hear if your loss. I only worked with John for a short time at PAR but knew he lived his family. He was proud of all of you and was so in love with his wife. He rests now free of pain and with his other son. God bless you all and comfort you with good memories.

I am so sorry for your loss,. I had the pleasure of working with John at Dr Janick's, he was a great friend. I remember when I was moving to TX he showed up at my yard sale, meant the world to me. Find Bob in heaven John, you guys can laugh about all the crazy stories I'd come home from work with. Glad you are out of pain, and you can eat all the fudge you want! Rest in peace.

We met John and his wonderful family in 1988 at the Punta Gorda Church of God. He was strong, yet caring and always put God and family first. John was always one to kid around and make light of a dark situation. He and Tommy are in a better place now. Love to all of you!
I met John in 2011 , he is very kind, funny and had a great soul and he loved his family. He will be missed.

I met John when I was 16 at Charlotte County Speedway,it was a great friendship for a few years,and then my family moved away from Punta Gorda,he was a wonderful person,later in years i moved back,often i thought about him,but we each had our new lives,,when Facebook came about I saw his post and knew he had a wonderful life,with a wonderful family,please know how very sorry i am for your loss,he was a wonderful person,my prayers are with all of his wonderful family and friends
